The commercial section of the American Presence Post is dedicated to strengthening economic ties between Western France and the United States.

Assistance to American Companies in the United States

APP Rennes works closely with local business and industry groups to promote a dynamic trade relationship between France and the United States. Our primary mission is to support U.S. commercial interests and to promote U.S. goods and services in France. As part of this mission, we can:

• Counsel U.S. companies on market opportunities, regulations and methods of doing business in western France
• Put U.S. companies in contact with local business and industry groups
• Alert U.S. companies of trade show opportunities and help facilitate contact with trade show organizers
• Conduct partner searches for U.S. companies
• Identify major projects and provide support for U.S. companies’ bids
• Provide support for U.S. companies involved in commercial disputes

Assistance to American Companies in France

The Commercial Service helps American companies located in the region by providing information, advocacy, and advice on practical information such as housing and schools.

Areas of expertise

APP Rennes’ Econ/Commercial specialist is active in all the major economic sectors in western France, such as shipbuilding, renewable energies, heavy industry, agribusiness and the automotive industry.

In September 2011, APP Rennes received President Obama’s National Export Initiative Award for achievements in commercial diplomacy.
